U17/18’s – Training Sessions
Training sessions usually begin in the first week of September and run through until the end of April. Then the sessions sometime usually extended an extra 7 weeks into June.
There are times during the season that sessions may not be on due to the hall not being available. Notices are usually posted on the club website in advance (Under the ‘NO SESSIONS’ post – parents should check regularly for any updates), but occasionally certain scenarios e.g. weather conditions means there is less notice. We advise all parents/players who attend our sessions to check the club website regularly for any new updates.
Session Age Group: School Years 10-12/13
Day of the Week: Monday
Session Times (three sessions for this age group):
Majority of Year 10, 11 and 12 will be in Sessions 1 and 2
Session1: 7-8pm
Session 2: 8-9pm
Session 3: 9-10pm
Costs: We now operate a block booking system for our sessions. Each block is usually 6 or 7 weeks (it works out at £5 per session – Block payment MUST be paid at the first session of the block that players attend).
What to Bring: T-shirt, shorts/tracksuit or jogging bottoms, suitable trainers, drink(s) (preferably NOT fizzy). Hawks training top (or black and white tops) if you have one otherwise a t-shirt or a basketball team vest is fine – Hawks training tops are ONLY compulsory for ALL TEAM registered players.
What to Expect: As this session is combined with the U18’s, the drills are often conducted at a good pace and with a higher level of skill and accuracy than other teams of this age. That said, beginners and players of less ability are warmly welcomed by the group and encourage to improve at a impressive rate.
Location: Sir Frederick Gibberd College, Tendring Road, Harlow, CM18 6RN – The School is located on Tendring Road – due to bollards in the middle of Tendring Road, traffic is not able to travel end to end along the full length of the road. Therefore the end of Tendering Road that you need to come to that gives access to the school is via the junction with Abercrombie Way or Partridge Road. The school is located on the left just past the Tendring Road\Partridge Road junction.
